Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD), FRCD (C)

Dr. Anthony Chung | B.Sc.
Doctor of Dental Surgery, Dip.Endo, FRCD(C)
Dr. Chung moved to Canada from Guyana with his family when he was nine years old. For as long as he can remember he has always been intrigued with how things work. As he grew up he transitioned from taking toys apart to look inside them to looking inside of teeth.
Anthony completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto and then followed up with his dental degree in Cleveland, Ohio at Case Western Reserve University. Personal goals to be an outstanding clinician led him to complete a program in advanced dentistry via CWRU and University Hospitals of Cleveland. The AEGD program provided valuable experience in the management of children and medically compromised patients.
Completion of the endodontic program at U of T then provided the skills to look even deeper inside of teeth. Along with clinical practice, teaching has also been one of Anthony’s passions. He continues to serve the profession in this capacity.
Understanding that a tooth is part of a greater biologic system and that the physiology of a tooth is interrelated to the physiology of the entire body, Anthony began a program in osteopathic manual therapy in 2011. He hopes to marry dentistry and osteopathy in the future with the idea of preventing the need for root canal treatment in some patients.
Anthony loves traveling with his camera. He has trekked to the top of Africa, through the mountains of Peru, and stood on the ice of Antarctica. In his heart, however, the Caribbean still beats.
